Since my wife and I are not snowed in today, we are going to see Brooklyn. The ratings have been great, so I can't wait! More later...

Spotlight

I just saw Spotlight, Tom McCarthy's new film concerning the breaking of the Catholic abuse scandals in the early 2000s. This was an excellent depiction of reporters overcoming a deep conspiracy, with only traces of big picture glamour. I was reminded of All The Presidents Men, since we can see dedicated reporters digging for truth, and using actual pen and paper for notes!

Movies Tonight

Be sure to check out Crossfire on TCM at 6:30pm if you're not going out to dinner and a movie. It's an attack of the Roberts: Mitchum, Ryan, and Young. Father Knows Best hanging out with two toughs!

If you are heading to the movies, go see what I'm seeing: Love & Mercy. This movie looks great, not only because it stars Paul Dano, but because it is a biopic on Brian Wilson. Nice!

This is a movie lovers blog, but before we go any further, I am going to give you the recipe for the Hairy Lime. You'll love it!

1 can Cola
3 oz Gin
1 tsp Grenadine
0.5 oz Sweetened Lemon Juice
1 oz Lime Juice

Put ingredients, excluding the cola, into shaker over ice. Shake. Pour half can of cola into glass. Add ice. Strain ingredients from shaker. Add remainder of cola. Stir vigorously. Enjoy!
